Jason shrugged and smiled as he leaned over a chair to look at the stuff on the table. “I try. I’m just trying to make sure you’re happy.” He then quickly picked Dickie up, along with the bedding set and moved to the guest room. “Let’s get your room set up.” He put the kid down, rustling his hair with a wide grin.

He giggled. “Okay!” he looked around, deciding what to do first. He set his new elephant on the side table, and made sure it was comfortable (even telling it he would be right back and giving it a kiss), and went back over to Jason. “This is exciting!”

Jason couldn’t help but agree. He looked around and put the bedding set down by the door before moving to pick up the dream catcher. “First, you need to decide if you want to rearrange the room. If we do that first, it makes everything else easier.” Jason looked down at Dickie, glad he had found his first tiny friend.

Cass was lurking in the nooks and crannies of the Narrows, scouting the area for any suspicious activity. She expected some commotion to take place, seeing as it was the Narrows at nightfall, but the area seemed eerily quiet.

She crossed her arms across her chest, irritated. “Is absolutely nothing happening tonight?” she growled to herself.

Jason looked down at his friend and couldn’t resist. He jumped down, tackling her. He gruffed his voice, making it sound bigger than he is. “Hey there Pretty Bat.”
